It can operate in any of four different modes -- easy, normal, advanced/expert, and hardcore -- which the user can select based on their ability and knowledge. The differences in the levels include interface, automation, and depth of options.
For those with any experience building sites (WYSIWYG doesn't count), "normal" mode is a good place to start. It has icons across the top and under the menu to help you easily find things, with more in-depth options popping down from them. Once you learn where things are, you could easily step up the next mode and save screen clutter.
In Normal mode, you will more easily become acquainted with the "extras" that make the program worth a look for anyone.

To install the library; expand the distribution AIML-elements.zip and you will see a single file called AIML elements.clb Copy the file into the Notetab libraries folder, usually at Notetab/libraries/
The elements or tags in this clip library correspond to the set of AIML elements adopted by the AIML Architecture committee for the Artificial Intelligence Markup Language (AIML) Version 1.0.1 A.L.I.C.E. AI Foundation Working Draft, 18 February 2005 (rev 007).
This library is intended to help novices and experienced programmers alike to write AIML scripts quickly and efficiently. Select an element from the library list and double click. If any attributes are required, an input form will pop up where you can enter details before clicking OK and printing the complete element into the workspace at the cursor point. The workspace can be edited as usual after tag inputs.
Any element can be easily customised for your own requirements, or extended strings of elements created for new library items.
The second part of the list SAMPLE ELEMENTS contains a list of pre-assembled samples that demonstrate typical usage. These are essentially simple forms. Again you could create your own assemblies as new library items. Future developments could include a more comprehensive selection of assemblies that are frequently used or demonstrate techniques

NoteTab has the ability to work with other programs and future developments of this library should include expanding the sample element library and integration with an AIML interpreter. Other clip libraries could also produce analytical and conversation targeting in conjunction with bot applications.

I've noticed from several posts on the Xoops forums that people want to know how to add multiple avatars to their websites without manually inputting from the Xoops admin page. Mikhail has created a download of 342 avatars and an sql database file to accompish this, but using phpMyadmin can be quite daunting for newbie users. Developers, do you remember the first time you visited phpMyadmin and said "oh! sh*t this looks complex" and made a fast exit? Maybe not, but inexperienced users are rightly concerned about using database interventions without knowing what they are doing and find the php manual over complex for basic tasks.
Ive made a tutorial using flash that explains for complete beginners a click-by-click account of how to manage the database query using Mikhail's download file and phpMyadmin.
Here's what you need to do the job; the avatars download file 342 Avatars file Decompress the file and open the folders so that you know what's in there.
Access to phpMyadmin, either from your host or by using the Xoops module here phpMyadmin module The module will need to be installed first, but will be very useful in the future for users without cPanel.

This is usually available by default on MSIE, but some versions of Mozilla require a plugin installation. I can make a PDF version available, but it's not as good as flash.
If you are really unsure about 'messing with the database' why not install XSAS and experiment with a xoops site on your local machine without fear of damaging your online creation?
This is my first flash presentation and it's a bit rough in places. It's not an official release either, just an offereing to see if it may be useful to users. If you give the 'thumbs up' I can produce more like this and some subject ideas from you would be helpful.
At its core, BK ReplaceEm is essentially a text search-and-replace program. However, unlike the search-replace functionality of a standard text editor, BK ReplaceEm is designed to operate on multiple text files at a time. And you need not only perform one search-replace operation per file – you can setup a list of operations to perform. If different groups of files need to have different operations performed on them, this is no problem either. You can also specify a backup file for each file processed just in case the replace operation didn’t do exactly what you wanted.
When specifying which files to be included in a particular replace operation, you can add one file at a time, or you can tell BK ReplaceEm to use all the files from a particular folder – or the files from that folder that match a given file filter (such as *.txt or *.html). You can also decide to include the files from all subfolders of that folder.
One very powerful feature of BK ReplaceEm is that you can specify that the destination of the altered file be some other location than where it originally came from. This is handy if, for example, you want to have some search-replace operations performed on a particular source file and have it saved to a destination file, and then want to have different search-replace operations performed on that same source file, and have it saved to a different location.
When the replace operations are performed, a log file is generated to let you know if everything went ok; Information about which files were processed, where they were saved to, where they were backed up to, and how many replace operations were performed on them are provided.
I used this programme when I wanted to move my whole website from one server to another, before I used Xoops. I had 0ver 15,000 hard coded URLs all over the site's files and directories that all needed to be changed to reflect the new server address.
BK Replace EM did the job perfectly in about 15 minutes, including all the seting up, checking and double checking. Great bit of software.
What is can do in more detail:
There are a great many things you can do with BK ReplaceEm to improve your productivity. The author wrote the program because although there were many search-replace programs available, they were either too much of a hassle to use (requiring one to learn an entire scripting language just to do some search-replace operations), or weren’t powerful or flexible enough to do what he wanted. Here he presents an example of one of the ways in which he uses BK ReplaceEm nearly every day.
"I maintain a set of web pages at http://www.orbit.org/. I also have a mirror for these pages – for simplicity let’s say that my pages on the mirror have their root in http://www.mymirror.com/bk/. There are multiple pages located on these sites. Some equivalent pages on the main site and the mirror are located as follows:"
Now let’s say that at the bottom of each of my pages I wanted to keep a link to each of the other pages on that same site. From the root pages (http://www.orbit.org/ and http://www.mymirror.com/bk/) if I wanted to make a link to the programs page, I could make the link to “programs/” and things would be fine for both the mirror and the main site. A problem arises with the power page though – there is no one link which would work for both the mirror and the main site. Also, linking from the programs page to the root page could only work with both sets of pages using a link to “../”, but this does not work with all web browsers. Clearly the only possible solution is to maintain two entirely different sets of web pages for the main site and the mirror site, and this was precisely what I was forced to do before I developed BK ReplaceEm.
Aside from being a disaster to update, the two sets of pages will inevitably get out of sync sooner or later. Luckily, using BK ReplaceEm solves the problem nicely. Now I have one main set of pages on my hard-drive, which are the only pages I update, located in C:\BK Pages\Generic\. Anywhere in these pages where I wish to place a URL to the root page, I have the text %%%_bk_url_%%%. Likewise, I have %%%_programs_url_%%% for the programs page, and %%%_power_url_%%% for the power page.
I have two replace groups setup in BK ReplaceEm – one called “Main Site,” and the other called “Mirror Site.” In the “Main Site” group, each of the above %%% strings are set to be replaced by the appropriate URLs for the main site. Similarly, in the “Mirror Site” group, the same %%% strings are set to be replaced by the appropriate URLs for the mirror site. When I perform the replace operation using BK ReplaceEm and this setup, the “Main Site” pages are all saved, with the correct URLs, to the folder C:\BK Pages\Main Site\, while the “Mirror Site” pages are saved, also with the correct URLs, to the folder C:\BK Pages\Mirror Site\. In this way I need only ever modify the generic version of the pages and run BK ReplaceEm on them before I upload the generated and updated site-specific pages to their appropriate locations.
As an added bonus, if I were to ever get another mirror site for my pages, I would only need to add a new replace group for the mirror in BK ReplaceEm, and I would never have to worry about changing my source pages to work properly with the new mirror’s setup.
Bulk Rename Utility is a simple utility which allows you to rename multiple files and folders, based upon flexible criteria. For example, you can add a prefix or suffix to a file, or you can change three letters with four other letters in a filename. There are lots of ways to manipulate file and folder names.
Quick-Start Tips

The application supports flexible renaming criteria, including:

All of these changes automatically ignore the filename extension, as it's usually dangerous to change the extension for a file. However, you can change the extension case to a fixed extension, and you can also remove an extension. You can choose to ignore extensions within folder names (but not filenames)
The application supports Favourites, which allows quick access to frequently-used rename configurations.
Directory recursion is also fully supported, allowing you to process directories and sub-directories.
This application is continually being enhanced. If you like the application, but have some suggestions for enhancements or improvements, then please get in touch. If you don't like the application then please tell me what you don't like! I would add some more functionality (e.g. allow conversion of double-spaces to single-spaces, allow removal of leading spaces) etc., but I'm struggling to find the room on the screen! If anyone has any bright ideas......

DVD Shrink is software to backup DVD discs. You can use this software in conjunction with DVD burning software of your choice, to make a backup copy of any DVD video disc.
DVD Shrink will also burn your backup DVD, if you have installed the latest version of Nero. You can download a demo version of Nero here. If you already possess alternative burning software and prefer to stick with it, then you can still use DVD Shrink. The output from DVD Shrink can be saved as files on your hard drive, or as an ISO disc image on your hard drive, which you can then burn with software of your choice.

Why use DVD Shrink?
Most DVDs are designed to prevent you from making copies.
The first preventative measure is encryption. Commercial DVD titles are often encrypted, which prevents you from either copying them to your hard drive, or if you manage to do so, being able to play the resulting files. DVD Shrink overcomes this problem with built-in decryption algorithms, which means you can use DVD Shrink to backup a DVD directly, without requiring any other software.
The next problem is not so easy. Most DVD video titles are simply too large to fit, without modification, onto a single recordable DVD-R disk. DVD Shrink overcomes this problem by compressing or "shrinking" the data from your original DVD. The latest DVD Shrink 3.2 contains state-of-the-art compression algorithms, rivalling those found in the best commercial softwares.

Comment ... Making DVD copies with this piece of software is extremely easy. You need a dvd burner, that's it. The copies are indistinguishable from the originals. I was really amazed!
Why buy winzip and winrar when this little utility is free and does all the major formats?
Only dissadvantage is that it's a bit slow compared to others, so don't go using it on 1GB files unless your having lunch.
